Meet the Granny Go Round cardigan 2.0. The more sophisticated version of your favourite granny stitch cardigan. The original bestselling Granny Go Round cardigan, released in 2021, has now been reworked using more flattering techniques, with more step photos and 26 linked video tutorials to make it easier to follow.
It features the same vintage granny stitch charm and DK yarn, but with a slightly more generous fit and a different style of rib. However, if you’re a fan of the original post stitch rib – there are video tutorials for that too.
Its never too late to add another Granny Go Round to your wardrobe, and this design looks as good in a plain colour as it does in stripes. I’ve seen some great festive versions too with striped yokes – so let your creativity run wild! If you’re worried about weaving in ends, the video tutorials show how to float your yarn up the sides to avoid this.

You can use any DK yarn providing the gauge is met. The pattern uses Hayfield Bonus DK which is quite a thick DK yarn, so bear this in mind when substituting yarns.
The pattern is available in UK and US crochet terms, is worked from the top down and is intermediate level. The yoke requires some concentration but the body and sleeves are super straightforward. You’ll need a 4mm (G/6) hook & 5 x 20mm (3/4 in) buttons.
